Hard Truths Part 2: What You Really Are

Who am I?
What am I?
When asking this question, contemplate the following...
Who are you if I take away your body?
Who are you if I take away your thoughts?
Who are you if I take away your stories, beliefs and experiences?
who are you if I take away your roles, your job and anything else you identify with?
What is left?
The Body-
Your body is only a vehicle. A shelter that is wrapped around layers of light.
The vehicle merely serves as a protector of the divine spark. It provides the soul with visibility and mobility in a 3D world. It's literally no different that the vehicle carrying you to and fro.
You are not your vehicle.
Yet, here we are, obsessed over our weight and appearance, beauty and aging. We focus on the wrong things instead of maintaining the body like we maintain our vehicles.
The body has become a false idol, and a very profitable industry at that.
The Mind-
The mind is a frequency receiver, an antenna. Thoughts are like radio stations. We hear whatever channel we tune into. We tune into a particular frequency wave, and the words and the thoughts of that particular station. These words and thoughts become perceptions that weave our realities into existence. We are getting the shit kicked out of ourselves by our minds... we don't realize it is little more than a computer spitting out what feels like a personal movie. Yep... your reality is a movie and we don't realize we are actors (and unpaid ones!!).
Stories, Beliefs and Experiences-
This one was hard for me to swallow, yet I couldn’t deny the truth of it.
The things we experience here are no different than stories we read in a book. The beliefs we hold form the narrative of the storyline of that particular book.
Let me explain…
We have two selves. The human (ego) and the spiritual (divine spark). The human aspect is the part that feels and experiences your daily life. The divine aspect witnesses these things and looks at them like stories or lessons from a textbook, and nothing more. The divine aspect does not experience them. Only observes them.
And here we are, letting our stories and experiences become the mud that buries the light within.
We let our beliefs justify all kinds of sinister shit. Little do we realize that our feelings and beliefs become fodder for the evil one to play with.
If you are not your body, not your thoughts and not your beliefs or stories... who are you?
And why does any of this matter?
Long ago in history there were findings where certain words were carved into stone in sacred places. Those words?
Know Thyself.
Why was this important?
It was believed that if you could recognize the real and true aspect of yourself, it kept you from the depths of human suffering by being able to actually save yourself.
To the Gnostics, this was called gnosis… the act of experiencing the real Source within you.
Gnosis means “to know”.
Pneuma, Your Divine Spark-
Who is the one who lies in the space between your thoughts? Have you stopped to notice this? This is the eternal observer, the divine part of you. It is where your divine spark can be known. It carries no thoughts, no opinions.
It recognizes the body as only a vehicle of protection and experience. Its only job is to observe and to radiate.
This divine aspect, what I call your “God Spark”, is called Pneuma.
Pneuma is the immortal part of you that originates from the One. It is the eternal observer.
And our purpose in being here is to awaken to this aspect of ourselves. It is the only part of ourselves that returns Home (pleroma or heaven).
It truly is the only part of ourselves that matters. Our purpose here is to find this and work with it. We have to work with the body and the mind in a way that the Pneuma, or Divine Spark can come through more effectively. The mind and body need to become servants to the Light within. It is only then that we become truly aware. Without awareness, we are kings and queens without our thrones, and we're mucking around in the kingdoms of others.
In Part 3 of this mini spiritual lesson (out in a few days), You will learn why suffering here is truly optional. But you must understand what you really are before you can figure out how to leave suffering behind.
They tell us suffering is optional… but never explained how or why.
I hope to do that for you through the next mini lesson.
With much love and gratitude for you all
Sincerely,
