Strongholds and Spiritual Warfare

The last several weeks, life has been at work desperately trying to mess with my head.
I know every single one of you understands what this is like.
How many of you just sit and spin in it?
How many of you fight back?
Sometimes it is so relentless, it’s exhausting. But fight this crap, we must!
Spiritual Warfare:
I call this Spiritual Warfare, and it is a very real thing happening in our lives. No one is immune. It involves the evil one attacking you as you step closer to the Light. Evil will fight to maintain its stronghold. Strongholds are actually evil entities that take up residence in your mind for the intent of letting in other little evil doers. Most of your mental anguish is caused by Strongholds.
Strongholds are a persistent mental or spiritual pattern that resists change and enslaves a person. Strongholds create entrenched thought patterns that are difficult to alter. They can lead to a sense of bondage, making it hard for individuals to break free from negative behaviors or thoughts. Now imagine this running amuck in your brain as the roller coaster of self-deprecating thoughts spins out of control.
This is evil at work. And the only way to combat this is a relationship with the Creator/God.
The Problem:
What you may not understand is there are 3 voices we all hear. The problem is we don’t know how to decipher which voice it is we are really hearing.
Is it the voice of the flesh, the voice of the evil one or the voice of the Creator/God?
I want you to ponder something…
If you were walking down the street and someone came up behind you and started talking, how would you recognize the voice? You wouldn’t recognize it without a relationship with that person. God wants a relationship, not a performance.
There are plenty of people who have strong relationships with God that do not go to church. And there are many who go to church that are nothing more than bad actors (which is why religion and church unfortunately have a bad rap). Your relationship with the Creator is YOURS and it is deeply personal.
The bottom line is, how are we to distinguish the voice of the Creator/God, if we do not have a relationship? How are you distinguishing what voice you are listening to?
A Mustard Seed of Faith:
It doesn’t take much faith to make extraordinary things possible. Even a tiny kernel will work. I am not talking faith, as in churchianity or religiosity… I am talking about belief.
Faith is the belief in something you cannot see. And having just an itty-bitty bit of it can make space for huge changes in your life.
Today’s world is filled with so much noise, challenge and uncertainty. Without faith, we find ourselves victim to the chaos we live within.
Ask For Help! You Aren’t Supposed to Do It Alone:
Have you ever been hurting deeply and you cried out to something bigger than you? Did you notice that the intensity lessened? That’s God.
Yet, many of us do not know how God works.
Many of us do not recognize the Divine voice (and trust me, he speaks… right beside the other 2 voices you hear).
Several years ago, I saw Angels everywhere… just standing there doing nothing. I asked why this was. I heard, “You need to ask for their assistance in order to know them”. So basically, there were a lot of unemployed angels hanging around waiting for humans to wake the heck up and ask for help. It’s the same with the Creator/God. However, we stupid humans feel we have to do it all by ourselves (and we repeatedly get an F in that class!)
Imagine that you, as a parent, are watching your child struggle with a difficult homework problem. You know the answer and want to help, but you know it is best to wait for your child to ask you for assistance. When the child finally asks, you not only provide the answer but also teach your child how to solve similar problems in the future.
This is exactly how God operates.
The Solution:
Even the smallest amount of faith can be enough to begin overcoming challenges that once seemed impossible. Maybe it sounds silly, but all you need to do is talk to the Creator/God like you would a trusted friend. Pause for a bit to listen. God doesn’t always speak in words. More often than not, it’s through a direct “inner knowing”.
Did the mention of forming a relationship with God make you cringe a bit? Then you should ask why! I do not judge… I was there too! But then Life pushed down on me so hard, there was nothing left.
Growth does not come from suffering and trying to get through it alone, but rather, from remaining open to being vulnerable, learning, asking for guidance from Above.
When desire is paired with humility and a willingness to seek higher insight, even the greatest obstacles can become opportunities for progress and transformation with the help from the One above.
